Our robot will help G.E.S. mark their trademarket floor outlines. The use manual labor to complete this task and although it gets the task done, it is time consuming and cost a lot. The company usually only has a few days to build their conventions and marking the floor takes quite a bit of time. If this process was done by a robot, it would be cheaper and the job could be done faster. If the company has more time to spare, then they can add special things to the trademarket.

We are going to use lego mindstorm parts to build our robot. The robot will include gears, wheels, and lego pieces.  We are also planning to use a gear box for our robot.  The gear box makes the wheels faster.  At first, the wheels were too fast, but we will have to change it later.  Our robot has two "brains" connected to each end.  At first, our robot wasn't sturdy in the middle, so Andrew was adding some parts to make it more stable.  He is also adding on the rotating marker motor.  The rotating marker motor  is attatched to a motor so it goes in a circle.  A marker like material will be attatched to it and it will make a line.

GES Project

We have accepted a project from GES and plan to create a robot to map a real-life floor plan. This project will be worth lots of money and we plan on achieving that task.

Prototype #3

This was built by Rachel and Andrew within two hours after school. Chalk is now being used for the marking of this project.

New Marker Decided

We have now agreed to use markers instead of chalk. It has low weight which will not slow down the robot and the lines made are not as thick as chalk.
